How long does it take to get CSPO certification?
CSPO certification takes 2 days of training with no exam. You're certified upon course completion. Here's what happens next.

Two days. That's it. You attend a 2-day Scrum Alliance-approved course, show up both days, and you walk out certified. No exam, no waiting period, no surprise requirements hiding in the fine print.
Here's the full picture of what that actually means for your timeline and what comes after.
The 2-Day Training Course
Your certification happens during the course itself, not after. You'll work through product ownership fundamentals, stakeholder management, and how to actually write user stories that your developers won't throw back at you. By end of day two, your instructor signs off and you're done. That's the certification part.
We've trained over 55,000 professionals since 2015, and the two-day format works because it's intensive enough to stick but short enough that you're not away from your team for weeks. Our courses start at $349.
What About After You're Certified?
Here's where people get tripped up. Your certification doesn't last forever. Every two years, you'll need to renew it by earning 20 Scrum Education Units (SEUs) and paying a $100 renewal fee to the Scrum Alliance. That's not part of the initial two days, but it's worth knowing upfront so you're not surprised down the road.
The SEUs can come from taking other courses, attending conferences, or even teaching Scrum to others. Most product owners we've worked with pick up SEUs naturally just by staying active in the community.
Why the Two-Day Format?
You might wonder why CSPO doesn't have an exam like some other certifications do. The Scrum Alliance built it this way because they're betting on your participation and engagement during the course itself. If you show up and engage, you've already proven you understand the material. No separate test needed.
