How to Obtain Scrum Master Certification

To obtain Scrum Master certification, you typically need to complete a training course and pass an exam. The most recognized certification is the Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) offered by the Scrum Alliance. This process involves attending a two-day training course taught by a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST), followed by passing the CSM exam.

Steps to Certification

  • Choose a training provider: Look for a Scrum Alliance Licensed Training Provider like ThinkLouder, which has trained over 55,000 practitioners since 2001.
  • Complete the training: Attend a two-day CSM course. Classes start at $349.
  • Pass the exam: After training, you'll receive a link to take the CSM exam online. A passing score requires answering 37 out of 50 questions correctly.
  • Accept the license agreement: Once you pass, you’ll need to accept the Scrum Alliance license agreement to receive your certification.

Additional Certification Options

Beyond the CSM, there are other certifications you might consider: - Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) - Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM) - Advanced Certified Scrum Product Owner (A-CSPO)
