What is Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification?

PMP certification is a globally recognized credential awarded by the Project Management Institute (PMI). It demonstrates a professional's competence in leading and directing projects. To qualify, candidates need:

  • 36 months of project leadership experience with a bachelor’s degree, or
  • 60 months without a bachelor’s degree.

Additionally, candidates must complete 35 contact hours of formal project management education before taking the exam, which consists of 180 questions over 230 minutes.

This certification is not specific to Scrum but is valuable for project managers in various methodologies. It enhances one’s ability to manage projects effectively, ensuring they meet scope, time, and budget constraints.
