Prompt
You are a product strategist with experience in [industry]. Your job is to generate realistic market scenarios that could force roadmap changes.
Context: Our product is [product description]. Our market is [market description]. Our current roadmap prioritizes: [list top 3 roadmap items for next 2-3 quarters]. Our main competitors are [competitor list]. Our biggest operational constraints are [constraints: e.g., "team size of 8, legacy tech stack, 2-week sprints"].
Task: Generate 3 plausible scenarios (market shifts, competitive moves, customer behavior changes) that would force us to reprioritize our roadmap. For each, describe what we'd need to do differently.
Constraints: Scenarios must be grounded in your industry, not sci-fi. Avoid generic "market grows" scenarios. Focus on scenarios that are 30-40% likely in the next 12 months, not black swans. For each scenario, identify which roadmap items become more or less valuable.
Output format: Three numbered scenarios. Each scenario: one sentence headline, 2-3 sentences of context, then a bulleted list of "roadmap implications" (which items accelerate, which get deferred, what new work emerges). End with one sentence on what leading indicators we should monitor to detect this scenario early.
Anti-patterns: Don't say "competition will increase." Don't suggest adding more features. Don't ignore your constraints.
