How to Do PMP Certification

To obtain PMP certification, you need to meet specific eligibility requirements, complete formal project management education, and pass the PMP exam. Start by ensuring you have the necessary project leadership experience: 36 months for those with a bachelor's degree or 60 months without. Next, complete 35 contact hours of formal project management education.

After that, apply for the exam through the Project Management Institute (PMI) and prepare for the 180-question test, which lasts 230 minutes and includes two 10-minute breaks. Once you pass, remember to maintain your certification by earning 60 PDUs every three years.
