CSPO certification is awarded by Scrum Alliance upon completing a 2-day course. There is no exam required. You get the credential immediately after the course ends.

How CSPO Certification Works

The course costs $349 to $549. Your certification is valid for two years. After that, you renew by earning 20 Scrum Education Units (SEUs) before expiration.

The 2-day course covers three core areas: understanding the Product Owner role, managing the product backlog, and maximizing value delivery. You'll work through real scenarios with other practitioners. By the end, you'll know how to write effective user stories, prioritize under constraint, and talk to stakeholders without losing your mind.

Who Should Get CSPO Certified

This certification makes sense if you're stepping into a Product Owner role for the first time, or if you want to formalize skills you've picked up on the job. It's also useful if you're moving from a traditional product management background into Agile and need to learn the Scrum framework specifically.

If you're already running a product backlog and shipping work, the course will sharpen your approach. If you're new to product work entirely, you'll get a solid foundation.
